Andy Murray has confirmed that he will be heading to Queens Club this year as the Scot bids for a third AEGON Championships title.
Murray, the world number four and top British player, is the defending Champion at Queens, having beaten France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in last year’s final.
It was his second title as the Scot also won the Wimbledon warm-up tournament in 2009.
This year Murray will be bidding for his third title, a feat that was last achieved by a British player by FG Lowe back in the 1920s.
“I’m excited to be going back to The Queen’s Club,” said the 24-year-old.
“It’s a great tournament and the grass courts are as good as anywhere in the world, so it’s the perfect preparation for Wimbledon.
“There’s always a great atmosphere and, having won the trophy twice previously, I have nothing but good memories.
“They also have one of the biggest trophies on the tennis circuit, and most of the Wimbledon Champions are on it, so you know it’s a big deal. I’d love to win it again this year.”
