Cipriani on his way to Sale

2012-02-22 10:34:07

Sale Sharks are set to announce that they have agreed a deal to bring Danny Cipriani back to the Aviva Premiership.

The former England fly-half, who used to ply his trade at Wasps, is in the final season of a two-year contract with Super Rugby outfit the Melbourne Rebels.

He has been the subject of constant speculation linking him with a move away from the Rebels due to several off the field disciplinary issues during his first season with the franchise.

Cipriani, who won the last of his seven Test caps in 2008, is hoping that a return to England will re-ignite his international career.

London Irish also showed interest in acquiring his services but the 24-year-old looks set to sign a three-year contract with Sale, whose head coach Tony Hanks worked with him during his stint at Wasps.
