The 10-year-old is the clear favourite to defend the Queen Mother Champion Chase he won at the festival in 2011 and once again impressed with a 15-length victory as he beat one of his biggest rivals to win the Tied Cottage Chase.
Jockey Andrew Lynch was understandably delighted by the victory and says he’s impressed by the condition of the Henry de Bromhead trained horse ahead of the March festival.
“He’s done it well,” said Lynch. “The plan was to go out and enjoy it and use his jumping.
“I wanted to use his big stride and, although the ground was tacky, he’s getting stronger now and handles it better.
“He should improve for that. He hasn’t run since the Tingle Creek.”
