Simonsig seals Kelso glory

The grey produced a fine display north of the border to take a convincing win at Kelso despite a long journey from Lambourn in Berkshire, with chances for races in England in short supply.
Simonsig is in the running for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the upcoming Cheltenham Festival next month and is now one of the favourites for the event over two miles.
Henderson was delighted with the horse’s performance at Kelso under jockey Barry Geraghty and is looking forward to seeing what the runner can do in the future.
He told At The Races: “I’d always hoped he might be a bit special and I think he probably is.
“The sun did him (Geraghty) no favours over the last couple and he’d have loved to go and stride on a little bit - he was at pains to hang on to him.
“We’re just trying to see where that speed is and he has got an awful lot of it.”
