Halifax’s goalkicking centre Mick Nanyn is set to be miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The injury has dealt Nanyn’s hopes of climbing into the top five of rugby league’s all-time points-scoring chart a blow.
The 29-year-old Scotland international is currently the seventh highest scorer in the game and will be out of action for at least six months.
He needs two operations to repair the damage caused by a collision on the training field.
Nanyn joined Halifax in the off-season after stints with Oldham, Harlequins, Rochdale, Swinton, Whitehaven, Leigh and Widnes.
