Bradford Bulls forward James Donaldson says the team will have to improve considerably if they want to return to the victory trail.
The Bulls were booed off at half-time during their 34-12 defeat to Catalan Dragons in their Super League opener at Odsal last weekend and Donaldson wants to avoid a repeat of those scenes when they travel to Castleford Tigers on Sunday.
“It was disappointing to hear the fans booing us at half time however we realise that the fans have a voice as well as the players and are well within their rights to show their opinions,” Donaldson told the Bradford Bulls website.
“We need the fans to get behind us as much as they can and support us, although we know that we have to give them a performance to cheer about.
“We have brought in some new players over the winter and were hoping for a new start this season but it never happened for us.
“The fans had some high expectations this season but we didn’t do what was needed and will need to make some big changes before the Castleford game this weekend,” added the loose forward.
