Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder insists that although the club has struggled in recent weeks, he is delighted with his personal form.
The Nerazzurri have avoided defeat just once in their last five matches, but Sneijder believes he has performed admirably in that period.
“I am the first to admit it if I am not giving my all or if I’m not performing well. However, as strange as it might sound following our recent defeats, that’s simply not the case,” he was quoted as saying by De Telegraaf.
“I am in great form at the moment. My first touches and passes are all fine. Nevertheless, it all depends on the group process.
“It is hard to shine when the team is struggling. With a little bit more luck, I would have had eight assists in the past two games.”
The Netherlands international now hopes he can take his personal form into Euro 2012, but admits there is still a lot of hard work to do before the tournament in Poland and the Ukraine.
“We still have a long preparation ahead of Euro 2012. Even the guys who have not been playing regularly at club level have plenty of opportunities to prove their worth. The team is the most important thing rather than individuals,” he added.
