Samba: Not 100% committed

Christopher Samba believes it is time to seek a “divorce” from Blackburn as he is no longer fully committed to the Premier League strugglers.
The towering defender, who first announced his desire to leave Ewood Park a year ago, has handed in a transfer request, although the club are adamant he will not be going anywhere.
QPR have tabled an unsuccessful bid for Samba - valued at £15million by Rovers - while Tottenham and Paris St Germain are also interested parties.
The 27-year-old insists he cannot give his all for Steve Kean’s side anymore and that the only solution is for the Lancashire outfit’s owners to sell their skipper.
“When a couple don’t get on they get a divorce, and that’s what me and Blackburn have to do,” he told the Sun.
“Blackburn need players who are 100% for the club, and I’m not. The only way to solve this is for them to let me go. It will be very difficult for me to play for this team again.
“I’m at the end of the road here. I’m not going to change so, for their good and mine, they must sell me now.”
Samba added: ‘‘I signed a new deal last January because Venky’s told me they had big plans. Names like Ronaldinho were mentioned and they promised there was going to be a lot of investment in the team. It hasn’t happened.
‘‘They don’t understand football in this country and they don’t realise how much I’ve given to Blackburn and that they have broken promises they have made. I stayed because I believed them but they weren’t honest with me and now I know I made the wrong decision. I share the frustration of the fans who must have believed the owners too.’‘
The Congolese centre-back also feels the Venky’s are asking too much money for his services.
‘‘I’m not a £15million player,’’ he declared. ‘‘Blackburn only signed me for £400,000 from Hertha Berlin and if they get £7million now then that’s very good business.
‘‘I’ve got nothing against the manager (Steve Kean). It’s not like he’s been given £100million to spend, he’s trying to do the best he can with what he has. This is between me and the owners. It’s personal.’‘
