Ntseki comfortable in hot seat

Bloemfontein Celtic assistant coach Molefi Ntseki insists Clinton Larsen’s absence in the build-up to the midweek PSL clash against Black Leopards has not negatively effected the team.

Phunya Sele Sele head coach Larsen has been away at a SAFA Level II coaching course in Durban, meaning they have been forced to prepare for the league encounter without the club’s top mentor.

However, Ntseki claims he has worked alongside Larsen for long enough to know exactly what is expected from the players during training.

“Fortunately, Clinton and I always work as a unit. Before he left for Durban, we sat down and worked out a training programme for the whole week,” he told the club’s official website.

“It is something that we do all the time. There is nothing I do differently at training from what we always do together.

“We have a clear understanding of each other. He may not have been with the team physically but he is always there in terms of communication.

“We speak over the phone every night to plot Leopards’ downfall. Clinton is a very nice guy to work with and he is knowledgeable when it comes to soccer.”

Looking ahead to Wednesday’s PSL outing, he added: “It is going to be a tough match but we are ready for them. They lost their last match to Pirates and will fight hard for three points at stake.

“The fact that they are at the bottom of the log, fighting for their dear lives will make them quite dangerous.

“Our preparations have so far been on track. I’m positive we will defeat them at their own backyard. We are determined to collect six points from them this season.”

Siwelele will be looking to secure their fourth successive PSL victory when they travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Leopards.
