Morris won’t leave on the cheap

2012-01-31 01:47:48

St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas is determined to hold on to club captain Jody Morris amid reported interest from Bristol City.

Morris has been linked with a move to the Robins where he would reunite with former Saints boss Derek McInnes.

However, Lomas insists no bid has been received for the 33-year-old and is adamant the former Chelsea man will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

“Until Bristol City make an offer that’s acceptable, Jody won’t be going anywhere,” said Lomas in the Daily Record. “There has been no bid.

“No club will let their club captain and midfield holding player go for nothing.

“I want Jody to stay at the club beyond the end of this season and haven’t given up hope of that.”
