Fulham boss Martin Jol has warned potential suitors they will have to spend big to land the signature of striker Andrew Johnson in January.
The former England international has not extended his current contract and will become a free agent in the summer if a new deal is not agreed.
The Cottagers are keen to go ahead with an extension as other clubs are knocking on Fulham’s door to secure Johnson’s services.
Queens Park Rangers have already had an initial bid rejected, while Blackburn have also fell short in their move for the experienced forward.
Jol has made it clear he would not like to see the 30-year-old go during the winter window, but admits that a good offer could see him change his mind.
Jol told Sky Sports: “If you get a big offer, you should get a very good player and I think Andy Johnson is a very good player. Anything else is almost impossible.
“Andy is an important player for me. It’s important to keep your players - particularly if you can’t get other ones in. We’ll have to wait and see.”
