Gignac: Top French talent

Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac claims he turned down the chance to join Premier League outfit Everton during the January transfer window.
The France international was thought to have been considering his future at the Stade Velodrome after falling out of favour with manager Didier Deschamps, and a number of clubs, including the Toffees and Fulham, have reportedly approached the Ligue 1 outfit over a possible deal for him.
However, the 26-year-old says he is still determined to work for his place at L’OM, and that if he were to leave the club it would be for one with more global stature than the Merseysiders.
“Everton is a top club in England, but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive,” Gignac told Sky Sports.
“I want to play one day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester Uniteds of this world.
“I do want to make a name for myself at Marseille. I love the club.”
Everton boss David Moyes has already made four big-name January signings, with Darron Gibson and Nikica Jelavic both penning four-and-a-half-year deals, while Landon Donovan and Steven Pienaar joined on loan.
