Fulham can’t bag Maxi Lopez

2012-01-23 05:14:51

Catania club administrator Pietro Lo Monaco has revealed that they’ve turned down an offer from Fulham for Maxi Lopez.

Lo Manoca also confirmed that the club have an agreement in place with AC Milan which should see Lopez on his way to the Serie A side shortly.

Lopez has made 14 appearances for Catania this season, scoring three goals.

“We have had an agreement with AC Milan for some time,” Lo Monaco told Gazzetta dello Sport. “Lopez is close to becoming an AC Milan player.

“We have rejected Fulham’s offer.

“Now we wait for the Rossoneri to make a move as it has to resolve a minor issue.

“At this point it’s likely that Maxi will play the next game with the Rossoneri.”

However, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani added that the move hinges on whether or not Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez joins the club.

“If Tevez does not arrive, then Maxi Lopez will join us,” Galliani said. “Either one or the other - certainly not the two of them.”
