Beckham and Capello

David Beckham looks to be greasing the way towards a possible recall to the England squad for Euro 2012 after singing the praises of Harry Redknapp.
Tottenham manager Redknapp is thought to be leading the race to succeed Fabio Capello, who stepped down as the Three Lions boss following the Football Association’s decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy.
And Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Beckham, whose omission from the England team was almost guaranteed under Capello, may just be looking to get his foot in the door after describing the Spurs boss as “incredible”.
“Harry is a great man, a great manager. His man-management is incredible,” said Beckham, who was invited to train with Spurs during the Major League Soccer off-season.
“I’ve known players that have played under him, I’ve trained under him and he’s not just a great manager but a great person as well.”
Capello stepped down as national team coach after the FA had made the decision to relinquish Terry of the captaincy without consulting the Italian, with the Blues skipper set to stand trial for charges of racial abuse in July.
When asked whether the decision should have been made by English football’s governing body or Capello, Beckham gave his full backing to the manager.
“Coach’s call,” he replied. “That’s always the case.
“Obviously the decision was taken to take the captaincy away from John but going forward I’m sure the captain will be picked by whatever manager steps in.”
